There are more than 200 locally-owned restaurants to choose from in HBURG. When polled, local foodies added these four must-eat restaurants to your travel bucket list.

 

 

With its Cajun flare, big tastes, and extensive wine and beer list, locals want to make sure you take a seat at the Crescent City Grill table while in Hattiesburg. This local staple has been around for more than 30 years for a reason!

  

 

With more than 120 beers on tap, the Keg and Barrel brewpub, located in a home built in the late 1800's, may not be the first destination that comes to mind for a foodie. But with dishes like shrimp & grits, farm-raised beef burgers, and chicken & waffles served alongside all those brews, Hattiesburg locals added this to your must-try list.

 

 

The Depot Kitchen & Market has amassed a huge following since its opening a few years ago. Located in Downtown Hattiesburg, the quaint building and delicious smells draw folks in, but regulars keep coming back for the tasty twist on southern ingredients and suggest you do the same!

To bring the best of Hattiesburg back home with you, our locals suggest shopping at the following places while in town.

 

 

Plan to spend time exploring the unique at The Lucky Rabbit, open every weekend. Located in our downtown district, this “junk joint” offers thousands of square feet of eclectic finds to explore the first Thursday through Sunday of each month.

 

 

If a shopping spree is what you have in mind, Hattiesburgers say to add plenty of time for a trip to Turtle Creek Mall. With more than 80 specialty shops and eateries, visitors will also find national anchor stores at this large, indoor mall.

Whether outdoor adventure or live music is more your scene, Hattiesburg has the perfect attraction or event for anyone. Locals say these choices are perfect for EVERYONE!

 

 

The Hattiesburg Zoo is listed as the #1 thing to do in Hattiesburg by TripAdvisor, and it’s a top pick of our locals, too! Hang with sloths, howl with monkeys, and hop with wallabies at Mississippi’s top zoo.  

 

  

Whether you choose to walk it, run it, bike it, or skate it, Hattiesburgers suggest you blaze the trail of the Longleaf Trace. This 44-mile paved trail travels through the heart of the city but makes you feel like you’re miles away from it all.

 

 

TGIF is the theme around Hattiesburg every Spring and Fall thanks to Live @ 5. Locals say to start your weekend early and arrive in Hattiesburg by 5pm for this free, outdoor live music series held each Friday seasonally. Bring a chair or blanket if you can, but the locals like to share, too!

 

 

HUBFEST is Hattiesburg’s premier arts and music festival, and Hattiesburgers invite you to enjoy this day of fun with them! Held each March, visitors to this event will find four stages of live music, over 250 vendors, and a large children’s area.
