PUBLIC ART TRAIL 

With more than 50 stops, the HBURG Public Art Trail is one of the newest, and fastest growing, attractions. Hattiesburg is on its way to being “The City of 100 Murals” by 2025, with more than 40 murals currently in its repertoire. Whether you walk it, bike it, or drive it, share in the beauty of Hattiesburg’s abundance of public art. Add some vibrancy to your visit with our collection of murals, sculptures, and paintings designed by artists both local and from across the nation.


 

  

 

FREEDOM SUMMER TRAIL 

The Freedom Summer Trail honors the men, women and children who participated in the civil rights movement in Hattiesburg in the 1960s. Freedom Summer was the 1964 voter registration drive that took place all over Mississippi, with Hattiesburg serving as the largest Freedom Summer area in the state. Hattiesburg’s trail recently won a Mississippi Main Street award for community engagement and the Mississippi Historical Society’s 2022 Award of Merit. The trail consists of 16 stops, each with their own audio component.

 

  

 

 

HATTIES[BURGER] TRAIL 

With 33 locations featured on the trail, foodies can identify participating restaurants through a HATTIES[BURGER] Trail marker displayed at the entry. The HATTIES[BURGER] Trail is designed to be enjoyed by residents and visitors from across the US to enjoy at their leisure.

 

 

 

 

HATTIESBURG GEOTOUR 

Presented by VisitHATTIESBURG, the Hattiesburg GeoTour is the first of its kind in Mississippi. With more than 40 geocache hides to find, Hattiesburg offers one of only 106 active official GeoTours worldwide. 

 

 

 

 

UTILITY BOX TRAIL

The Hattiesburg Public Art Scene features 100+ murals, sculptures, and painted utility boxes. Connecting Hattiesburg’s neighborhoods, main thoroughfares, and the points of interest that make it special. Discover these 44 utility boxes painted by local and national artists from 2020-22.
