Visitors and locals are welcome to come enjoy our local community with outdoor concerts and autumn markets here at the Hub City.

Pops in the Park

October 1

Come see this free outdoor concert at Spirit Park on the University of Southern Mississippi campus, with USM Symphonic Winds and the Steel Pan Orchestra performances. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. For more information, visit the USM website.

Live at Five

This is Hattiesburg’s free, outdoor live music series that returns this Fall at the Town Square Park. Every October Friday evening at 5 pm, guests can purchase food and beverages while enjoying the fall weather and outdoor family fun. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, family, and friends to this event, which believes in creating safe, family entertainment for the city of Hattiesburg and promotes local sponsors and vendors. Restaurant Week

October 13-19

This is Hattiesburg's 7th Annual Restaurant Week in celebration of the 200 locally-owned restaurants and eateries that put Hattiesburg on the map as a southern foodie destination. This year’s theme is “Turn Up the Heat” and Hattiesburg’s restaurants are serving up the hottest dishes in town.

Zoo Boo

October 18-20, 24-30

Come explore the Hattiesburg Zoo from a spooky perspective on the Spook-tacular Express and Carou-Spell rides. Bring your costumed little ones to enjoy the Petrifying Petting Zoo and Wicked Wallaby Walkout. The Creepy Cantina and Goblin Grill will be open and serving regular menu items and a few Spooky Specials. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time at Hattiesburg Zoo - Events.

Pine Belt Pride

October 7th-13th

The Spectrum Center’s 10th annual Pride celebration hosts many events across the city from October 7th- 13th, including “Queeraoke,” a comedy show, and a cookout.

October 12th is Pride in the Park at Town Square Park, starting at 10 am. This year will feature more than 30 vendors and food trucks. The Pride March will take place in Downtown Hattiesburg as well.

October 13th is the Pride Brunch at the Hattiesburg Cultural Center, and the doors open at 11 am.

Saenger Theater

October 4th and 18th

Initially built in 1929, this historic gem shows movies and hosts events in downtown Hattiesburg. Getting into the spooky mood, the Saenger will host a Hocus Pocus screening on October 4th at 7 pm. Costumes are encouraged, with the Bewitching Block Party starting at 6 pm.
Rocky Horror Picture Show featuring Hattiesburlesque will take place on October 18th. The Rocky Horror Block Party will begin at 6:30 pm, doors open at 7:30, and the show will start at 8 pm. The annual Costume Contest with prize rewards will be held on the Saenger Stage. Prop bags will be available for purchase and use during the show.

The Lucky Rabbit

Friday-Sundays in October

A self-proclaimed junk shop spanning over two buildings, The Lucky Rabbit features a variety of vendors who specialize in vintage, collectible, antique, nostalgic, and handmade items. This Hattiesburg staple celebrated its 10th anniversary and has been featured on HGTV’s Home Town multiple times. The Lucky Rabbit’s owners frequently recreate popular television and movie sets as free photo ops in the store. Past sets have included Stranger Things, The Office, Schitt’s Creek, Home Alone, and Griswold Family Vacation.

While usually only open on Saturday and Sunday, Hattiesburg’s fun shopping experience opens on Friday nights in October! Come for the shopping and stay for the experience. With new sets and exhibits inspired by Beetlejuice and other nostalgic haunts, you can’t miss the opportunity for family fun at the Lucky Rabbit. The set is created by fans for fans.
