The museum had humble beginnings in 1984 when it began as a small initiative by two military veterans.
Today, the impressive facility is sprawled over 23,000 square feet and houses over 17,000 exhibits and artefacts and around 2,000 documents.
It features eight galleries featuring various exhibits. Based on themes such as the Korean War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War amongst others, these exhibits offer a peek into the major events in military history.
From personal items such as clothing and medals to powerful military weapons, tanks, and aircraft, there are many intriguing items on display. There is a special area dedicated to Mississippi veterans.

Located on the University of Southern Mississippi’s campus, the garden is home to around 800 rose bushes from across the globe.
