It has been said, “All roads lead to Front Street,” so stay in the Hub City to enjoy what we claim as Mississippi’s best New Year’s Eve Celebration – Midnight on Front Street! Last year, more than 4,000 people enjoyed the inaugural event in Downtown Hattiesburg. This year, the city is making the event bigger and better for all of those who want to usher in the new year the Hattiesburger way. Inspired by the original Hub sign built in 1912, the City of Hattiesburg constructed a replica version of this sign to drop from the firetruck ladder at the intersection of East Front and Main Streets as the clock strikes midnight. Our version of a NYE ball, the Hub sign gives locals a sense of home and welcomes visitors from near and far.
At the family-friendly Midnight on Front Street event, string lights and live music will fill the night with memories and new beginnings. Street vendors and downtown restaurants will be serving up bites and libations throughout the night. At midnight, sit back and watch two booming firework shows. The fun isn’t over yet, though! Try breakfast at midnight at participating downtown restaurants before heading home for a good night’s rest. Pancakes mean good fortune, right? Looking for something a little more spirited? Usher in 2020 while dancing the night away at the Hub City New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Bottling Company. With live music by Madewood Street Music, decadent food, and plenty of fun and sequins, this event is an ideal date night or girl’s night out.
