VisitHATTIESBURG is celebrating the local culinary scene during the city’s fifth annual Restaurant Week, scheduled for Oct. 2 - 8, 2022.
With more than 40 participating restaurants, foodies from near and far will find something to satisfy their cravings.
“Hattiesburg Restaurant Week is the city’s leading culinary event, and we are excited to once again showcase our local eateries and the talented chefs who make Hattiesburg stand out as a foodie destination,” Marlo Dorsey, executive director/CEO of VisitHATTIESBURG, said. “The annual event helps stimulate the local economy through visitor and local spending as well as boosts appreciation of Hattiesburg’s award- winning restaurant scene.”
Home to nearly 200 locally owned restaurants, Hattiesburg has more local eateries per capita than any other Mississippi town, making it a premier culinary destination. Hattiesburg Restaurant Week has a proven history of providing a boost in sales for participating restaurants, especially after the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In October, 2021, the event increased restaurant sales by 16% compared to the previous year, a total of $2 million additional dollars invested in the local economy than in 2020.
During the week-long event, visitors and residents can indulge at more than 40 of Hattiesburg’s local eateries, with many offering exclusive specials for the week. Now in its fifth year, the week’s theme is once again OctoberFEAST but with a saucy twist! Each participating restaurant has selected a menu item featuring a sauce of choice, including sweet and savory varieties.
