Memorial Day Weekend in HBURG

 

Plan your Memorial Day weekend in Hattiesburg with this guide to what’s open and what’s happening!

 

Armed Forces Museum The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby will be hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday, May 27, at 10am. The ceremony honors those who have given their life in the service of freedom. Live music will be provided by soldiers from the 73rd Army Band, United States Virgin Islands. The event is free and open to the public. Visitors to the museum will find outdoor exhibits featuring military vehicles as well as historic artifacts and recreated trenches inside telling the stories of the U.S. Army from the 19thcentury to present. Admission to the museum is free, but don’t forget your ID to get on base.

 

Hattiesburg Zoo – Enjoy the sun, snow cones, and Splash Pad while educating yourself about more than 100 species of animals at Hattiesburg Zoo. Open Saturday and Sunday, 10AM – 4PM; closed on Monday. Admission is $6 for children (ages 2 - 12) and $8 for adults (ages 13 - 64) with discounts available to college students, seniors and active military. 

 

Pinebelt Blueways The Pinebelt Blueways consists of several routes along the Leaf and Bouie Rivers stretching from Jones County to Perry County – more than 50 miles of beautiful, scenic river for you to explore!  

Golf – FORE! Play a round at one of four Hattiesburg golf courses. Visit Timberton, Hattiesburg Country Club, Canebrake, or Shadow Ridge

Paintball – Head to Eagle Action Sportz this weekend to practice your paintball skillzzz. Veterans receive $5 off this weekend and every weekend. Open Friday, 3PM to dark and Saturday - Sunday, 9AM to 5PM.
