FestivalSouth in HBURG

FestivalSouth, Mississippi’s only multi-week, multi-genre festival, is celebrating its 14th season in Hattiesburg May 30 - June 24, 2023. Each week offers different events that introduce many different art forms to attendees, such as performance, theater, storytelling, craft brewing, dance, musical, and more!

We’ve done the hard work and put together an itinerary for your June weekends in Hattiesburg, centered on FestivalSouth’s signature events!

WEEKEND 1 ITINERARY:

Opening weekend starts off with a bang with multiple performances of Beauty and the Beast featuring the Hub City Players, a Tony and Olivier Award-winning play! Before the show, grab a bite to eat at Robert St. John’s Crescent City Grill, offering an array of cajun-creole dishes.

A late night of magic and wonder will have you needing coffee. Stop at T-Bones Cafe on your way to the Saturday morning event, FestivalFibers, at the Downey Gallery at University Baptist Church.

After the reception, explore the historic downtown district. Hattiesburg’s two-story junk and vintage shop The Lucky Rabbit is only open on the weekends, so take advantage! Named a top 11 art destination in the world, Hattiesburg has an impressive trail of murals and sculptures scattered through the city, so take look at the HBURG Art Trail to get inspired.

ABOUT FESTIVALSOUTH:

FestivalSouth is the largest project and fundraiser of the Hattiesburg Concert Association.

FestivalSouth returns to live and streaming events for its 13th season, opening June 2 and continuing through June 25. Grouped around the four weekends in June, art, music, theatre, and dance events are planned each Thursday through Sunday, with Artie Events for Families primarily earlier in the week. Tickets and information on both live and virtual events are available now at FestivalSouth.org.

A significant cultural and economic driver for the Pine Belt, FestivalSouth welcomes visitors to  participate and support the arts through visible attendance in the theater or via digital devices. Performances are nominally priced or free to encourage the largest turnout possible. Advance tickets to public events are strongly recommended as venue capacities may cause sell-outs.
