February Fun in HBURG

It’s finally Saturday, and you just can’t handle another game of Monopoly or watching Paw Patrol AGAIN. When you don’t want to stay in, but it’s a little too chilly to be outside, check out these entertaining indoor options in HBURG!

For fun that doesn’t cost an arm-y and a leg, step back in time at our two military museums. The Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby is comprised of eight galleries dedicated to honoring Mississippians who have served. Located in a former USO building from WWII, the African American Military History Museum in the East Sixth Street museum district Downtown Hattiesburg remembers the service and sacrifices of African Americans throughout military history, specifically focusing on those from Hattiesburg and the surrounding areas. Visit during February (Black History Month) for a special exhibit on WWII: The War in Print.

Sugar, yes, please! Fuel up on something sweet at one our local bakeries before letting the kids burn off the extra energy at Updown Trampoline Park in Midtown with jump time or a game of laser tag. This winter, there’s no need to make laps around the house when even the most energetic guys and gals can bounce for hours around town! For an outing that is slightly tamer, play a round at Lunar Golf in Turtle Creek Mall or bowl a turkey at Hub Bowling Lanes (we won’t tell if you need the gutter guards).

Challenge accepted! Solve a series of riddles before the clock runs out at College Town Escape Rooms, perfect for individuals and groups of all sizes and ages. 

Ready for awards season? After a long day of running, playing, and jumping, relax while you watch the latest flick at one of our two movie theaters featuring the latest amenities like recliner seating and bars with full menus. Daylight Savings never bothered us, anyway. Don’t let the days getting darker earlier stop your fun. Grab a cocktail at a local pub while you listen to live music any night of the week or head downtown to Southern Prohibition for a brewery tour and a pint. After all, a perfect way to cap off a day of fun in Hburg is an impeccable nightcap. Lastly, don’t miss yoga at the taproom every Saturday at 11AM to stretch yourself into relaxation.
