NEW HATTIES[BURGER] TRAIL LAUNCH

VisitHATTIESBURG launched the new HATTIES[BURGER] Trail on Monday to kick off the city’s 3rd annual Restaurant Week. The trail highlights local restaurants throughout the city that offer hamburgers on their regular menu.

In 2016, residents officially claimed the nickname “Hattiesburgers,” and the HATTIES[BURGER] Trail is a play on this moniker. With 33 locations featured on the trail, foodies can identify participating restaurants through a HATTIES[BURGER] Trail marker displayed at the entry. Eateries are also listed on the trail’s new brochure and will be featured in an interactive map online. “Fulfilling our mission of attracting visitors to Hattiesburg, we are always exploring best practices in the travel and tourism industry. Nationwide, foodie trails and tours are highly popular, and it’s certainly a big growth opportunity for us,” Marlo Dorsey, executive director of VisitHATTIESBURG, said. “Hattiesburg’s culinary sector draws people from far and wide, and this new addition of the HATTIES[BURGER] Trail is now one more delicious and fun reason to visit the Hub City.“

The HATTIES[BURGER] Trail is designed to be enjoyed by residents and visitors from across the US as an ideal socially distant activity for families and friends to enjoy at their leisure. Hattiesburg’s more than 200 local restaurants are safely operating within public health guidelines and are open to satisfy a variety of culinary cravings. Held Oct. 12-18, 2020, Hattiesburg Restaurant Week highlights special menu items at more than 40 participating local restaurants.
